To the inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty of his\u00adto\u00adri\u00adans of India, these resources can open up new research per\u00adspec\u00adtives that have remained obstruct\u00aded by an exces\u00adsive fix\u00ada\u00adtion on British colo\u00adnial archives. At the same time, inno\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive research ques\u00adtions can be gen\u00ader\u00adat\u00aded for pur\u00adpos\u00ades of transna\u00adtion\u00adal his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal com\u00adpar\u00adi\u00adson and for the his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal analy\u00adsis of \u201cglob\u00adal\u00adiza\u00adtion\u201d process\u00ades through an explo\u00adration of the mod\u00adern his\u00adto\u00adry of Ger\u00adman-Indi\u00adan entanglements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Down\u00adload Pro\u00adgramme as&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">PDF<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-font-size is-style-outline has-small-font-size is-style-outline--1\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.projekt-mida.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/ZMO-13-Programmheft-Workshop-EN-_148x210_RZ-2.pdf\">Down\u00adload<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Report<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objec\u00adtive of this work\u00adshop was to crit\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly dis\u00adcuss method\u00adolog\u00adi\u00adcal and con\u00adcep\u00adtu\u00adal approach\u00ades towards the his\u00adto\u00adry of mod\u00adern India on the basis of select\u00aded sources held in Ger\u00adman archives. In doing so, we were con\u00adcerned with some key issues that accom\u00adpa\u00adnied the <span class=\"caps\">MIDA<\/span> project through\u00adout its course. Among these were entan\u00adgle\u00adments and dis\u00aden\u00adtan\u00adgle\u00adments of Ger\u00adman-speak\u00ading and Indi\u00adan actors in the past, the entan\u00adgled archives that emerged of those Indo-Ger\u00adman con\u00adnec\u00adtions and the log\u00adic of the archive. How do we con\u00adfront colo\u00adnial archives, and what do Ger\u00adman archives tell us about the agency of his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal actors from India and beyond?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work\u00adshop organ\u00adis\u00aders and edi\u00adtors of the forth\u00adcom\u00ading vol\u00adume, Anan\u00addi\u00adta Baj\u00adpai, Heike Liebau and Nico Putz invit\u00aded pre\u00advi\u00adous <em><span class=\"caps\">MIDA<\/span> Archival Reflex\u00adi\u00adcon<\/em> authors to select one or two spe\u00adcif\u00adic sources which were used in their <em>Reflex\u00adi\u00adcon<\/em> arti\u00adcles, dis\u00adcuss them in-depth and present a crit\u00adi\u00adcal eval\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion of the sources in light of how they con\u00adtribute towards writ\u00ading his\u00adto\u00adries of India-Ger\u00admany entan\u00adgle\u00adments.&nbsp;The sources cho\u00adsen by the par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants ranged from tex\u00adtu\u00adal doc\u00adu\u00adments from the archives (ego doc\u00adu\u00adments, bureau\u00adcrat\u00adic doc\u00adu\u00adments, etc. etc.), visu\u00adal sources such as pho\u00adtographs or paint\u00adings, to videos, and audi\u00adtive sources such as a sound record\u00ading.
