From 1992 to 1994 he worked on his Ph.D. dis\u00adser\u00adta\u00adtion on \u201cRaj\u00adputen\u00adtum und puranis\u00adche Geschichtss\u00adchrei\u00adbung\u201d for which he was award\u00aded a Dr. phil. in 1997. From 1995 until 2000 he held posi\u00adtions as research fel\u00adlow in a DFG-fund\u00aded research project and as lec\u00adtur\u00ader for Hin\u00addi, respec\u00adtive\u00adly, at the Sem\u00adi\u00adnar f\u00fcr Indolo\u00adgie und Ver\u00adgle\u00adichende Reli\u00adgion\u00adswis\u00adsenschaft in T\u00fcbin\u00adgen. In the peri\u00adod from 2001\u20132003 he com\u00adplet\u00aded an advanced train\u00ading as a Wis\u00adsenschaftlich\u00ader Doku\u00admen\u00adtar \/ Infor\u00adma\u00adtion Spe\u00adcial\u00adist. 2004 he returned to the same Sem\u00adi\u00adnar in T\u00fcbin\u00adgen as a research fel\u00adlow.&nbsp; 2005, 2008 and 2010 he gave cours\u00ades in Hin\u00addi lit\u00ader\u00ada\u00adture at the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Z\u00fcrich. From 2011 until autumn 2014 he held a posi\u00adtion as librar\u00adi\u00adan at the G\u00f6t\u00adtin\u00adgen State and Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty Library.
