He is now work\u00ading on a new research project \u201cUnfa\u00admil\u00adiar: Fam\u00adi\u00adly, Law, and Democ\u00adra\u00adcy in South Asia.\u201d The project explores colo\u00adnial genealo\u00adgies and post\u00adcolo\u00adnial tra\u00adjec\u00adto\u00adries of debates around minori\u00adties and fam\u00adi\u00adly law in India, Pak\u00adistan and Bangladesh. It looks at the inter\u00adsec\u00adtion of reli\u00adgion, gen\u00adder and sex\u00adu\u00adal minori\u00adties and fam\u00adi\u00adly law on the issues of mar\u00adriage, adop\u00adtion and inher\u00adi\u00adtance. His wider research inter\u00adests include ear\u00adly mod\u00adern and mod\u00adern Indi\u00adan his\u00adto\u00adry, South Asian Islam and Mus\u00adlim cul\u00adtures, Urdu pub\u00adlic cul\u00adtures, affect and archives, com\u00adpar\u00ada\u00adtive Indo-Ger\u00adman his\u00adto\u00adries, his\u00adto\u00adry of emo\u00adtions and expe\u00adri\u00adence, glob\u00adal intel\u00adlec\u00adtu\u00adal and legal history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
