That same year, the <span class=\"caps\">CPI<\/span> expe\u00adri\u00adenced a split between the <span class=\"caps\">CPI<\/span> and the <span class=\"caps\">CPI<\/span> (Marx\u00adist). In the ear\u00adly 1970s, the <span class=\"caps\">FDGB<\/span> also became more inter\u00adest\u00aded in the <em>Indi\u00adan Nation\u00adal Trade Union Coun\u00adcil<\/em> (<span class=\"caps\">INTUC<\/span>).&nbsp; This was relat\u00aded to a split in the <em>Indi\u00adan Nation\u00adal Con\u00adgress <\/em>(<span class=\"caps\">INC<\/span>) in 1969, as well as the pre\u00adsumed and relat\u00aded left\u00adward evo\u00adlu\u00adtion of Indi\u00adra Gand\u00adhi\u2019s gov\u00adern\u00adment. Like\u00adwise, links were now estab\u00adlished with the Social\u00adist-led <em>Hind Maz\u00addoor Sab\u00adha <\/em>(<span class=\"caps\">HMS<\/span>). The declared goal of the <span class=\"caps\">FDGB<\/span> was to estab\u00adlish a \u201ctrade union uni\u00adty of action\u201d among the var\u00adi\u00adous Indi\u00adan fed\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtions. How\u00adev\u00ader, coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with the <span class=\"caps\">HMS<\/span> broke down with the dec\u00adla\u00adra\u00adtion of the state of emer\u00adgency in June 1975. With the end of the state of emer\u00adgency and the elec\u00adtoral defeat of the <span class=\"caps\">INC<\/span> in 1977, as well as an accom\u00adpa\u00adny\u00ading realign\u00adment of the <span class=\"caps\">CPI<\/span> on the one hand and the GDR\u2019s India pol\u00adi\u00adcy on the oth\u00ader, the FDG\u00adB\u2019s rela\u00adtion\u00adship with the <span class=\"caps\">INTUC<\/span> also cooled. The FDG\u00adB\u2019s rela\u00adtions with Indi\u00adan trade unions were large\u00adly shaped by the GDR\u2019s for\u00adeign pol\u00adi\u00adcy inter\u00adests. In par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar, the strug\u00adgle for full diplo\u00admat\u00adic recog\u00adni\u00adtion by the Indi\u00adan Repub\u00adlic (1972) as the self-declared lead\u00ading nation of the non-aligned states played an essen\u00adtial&nbsp;role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The core of this <em>The\u00adma\u00adtis\u00adche Ressource <\/em>is an anno\u00adtat\u00aded list of del\u00ade\u00adga\u00adtions that took place between 1964 and 1982. On the one hand, it lists del\u00ade\u00adga\u00adtions of mem\u00adbers of the <span class=\"caps\">FDGB<\/span> and its sub-unions to India. On the oth\u00ader hand, vis\u00adits by Indi\u00adans who were asso\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded with Indi\u00adan trade unions are shown. The del\u00ade\u00adga\u00adtions were of dif\u00adfer\u00adent nature. They could be rec\u00adi\u00adp\u00adro\u00adcal for\u00admal vis\u00adits to con\u00adfer\u00adences and con\u00adgress\u00ades, as well as rep\u00adre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtive del\u00ade\u00adga\u00adtions. Like\u00adwise, lec\u00adtur\u00aders were sent to India. The <span class=\"caps\">GDR<\/span> also received \u201cstudy del\u00ade\u00adga\u00adtions\u201d, trainees and stu\u00addents. Also list\u00aded are recre\u00adation\u00adal and cura\u00adtive vis\u00adits by Indi\u00adans, as well as some infor\u00admal vis\u00adits by high-rank\u00ading trade unionists\/politicians. The sources are locat\u00aded in the hold\u00adings of the Fed\u00ader\u00adal Exec\u00adu\u00adtive Com\u00admit\u00adtee of the <span class=\"caps\">FDGB<\/span> in <em>Archiv der Parteien und Massenor\u00adgan\u00adi\u00adsa\u00adtio\u00adnen der <span class=\"caps\">DDR<\/span> <\/em>(<span class=\"caps\">SAPMO<\/span>), which can be found in the <em>Bun\u00adde\u00adsarchiv<\/em> in Berlin. The descrip\u00adtions and com\u00adments there\u00adfore refer pri\u00admar\u00adi\u00adly to the activ\u00adi\u00adties and views of the <span class=\"caps\">FDGB<\/span> as pre\u00adsent\u00aded in the sources.
