Ben\u00adjamin Schultze (1689\u20131760) was one of the most pro\u00adlif\u00adic, but also most con\u00adtro\u00adver\u00adsial mis\u00adsion\u00adar\u00adies of the Dan\u00adish-Eng\u00adlish-Halle Mis\u00adsion, which worked in South India in the 18th and ear\u00adly 19th cen\u00adtu\u00adry. His con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adtion book The Large And Renowned Town Of The Eng\u00adlish Nation In The East-Indies Upon The Coast Of Coro\u00adman\u00addel, Madras Or Fort St. George, [\u2026] <\/em>was orig\u00adi\u00adnal\u00adly writ\u00adten as a Tel\u00adugu-Eng\u00adlish dia\u00adlog book in 1730. Lat\u00ader, in 1750, it appeared in two print\u00aded ver\u00adsions, one with a Ger\u00adman, the oth\u00ader with an Eng\u00adlish text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This resource offers a sen\u00adtence-by-sen\u00adtence lit\u00ader\u00adal tran\u00adscrip\u00adtion of the orig\u00adi\u00adnal man\u00adu\u00adscript with remarks on spe\u00adcif\u00adic spellings, miss\u00ading lines, or mis\u00adtakes. In the intro\u00adduc\u00adto\u00adry work\u00adshop report the author explains how he approached the source, and which ques\u00adtion arose dur\u00ading the transcription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
