This list con­sists of more than 2000 dis­ser­ta­tions relat­ed to India which were sub­mit­ted in Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties dur­ing 1783 – 2013. The Dis­ser­ta­tions are list­ed in a chrono­log­i­cal order. The indi­vid­ual entries con­sist of author, title, edi­tion, pub­lish­er, for­mat, ISBN, cov­er and price, descrip­tion or com­ments, key­words, sub­ject area and relat­ed works. Although the ear­li­est entry dates back to 1783, data from 1700 (up to and includ­ing 2013) have been includ­ed in the search. The data were tak­en from the cat­a­logue of the Nieder­säch­sis­che Staats- und Uni­ver­sitäts­bib­lio­thek Göt­tin­gen (SUB), the vol­umes of the “Jahresverze­ich­nisse der at deutschen Hochschulen ein­gere­icht­en Schriften” and the cat­a­logue of the Deutsche Nation­al­bib­lio­thek (DNB).

In addi­tion to dis­ser­ta­tions pub­lished at Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties, the list also includes indi­vid­ual results from uni­ver­si­ties in the Ger­man-speak­ing coun­tries of Aus­tria and Switzerland.
