Werdegang

Maria-Danie­la Pomohaci’s PhD is focu­sed on the sca­ven­ger com­mu­ni­ty in colo­ni­al Cal­cut­ta. She has two Master’s Degrees, one in Socio­lo­gy from the UNESCO Depart­ment for the Stu­dy of Inter­cul­tu­ral and Inter­re­li­gious Exch­an­ges at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Bucha­rest, and one in Indi­an histo­ry from CeMIS. Her Master’s the­ses focu­sed on chan­ges in the cas­te sys­tem in colo­ni­al India and issues of com­mu­nist invol­vement in labour strikes in colo­ni­al West Ben­gal. She com­ple­ted a BA in histo­ry at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Bucha­rest. Her the­sis focu­sed on the poli­ti­cal and reli­gious evo­lu­ti­on of the cas­te sys­tem in India.
